McFatter 50th anniversary

A 50th wedding anniversary was given for John and Sue Ryland McFatter of Sandia on May 17, 2008. This event was hosted by the honoree's children, David, Wesley, Elaine and Catherine. The couple was serenaded by the Mariachi Fuego of Corpus Christi, as the couple cut a wedding cake, a gift of their children.
John and Sue were married May 30, 1958, in Uvalde. They moved with their four children to the Sandia area in 1982. John is retired from Texaco and Sue retired from the Calallen I.S.D. The couple's grandchildren, Jennifer Jones, Nicole, Jeffrey, Peyton, Paige, Trey and great-granddaughter Julie were in attendance to celebrate the occasion with their grandparents. Rita Von Lubbert of Port Lavaca, sister of the honoree, was also present, as well as many friends.
The couple enjoyed dinner, music and visiting with family and friends. Granddaughter Jennifer Jones presented her grandparents with a slide show of their wedding pictures and snapshots taken throughout the years, which was a tribute to their marriage.
