April is going to be an exciting month at the Northwest Branch Library. We're going to have lots of fun activities for your children.

We're going to have lots of special programs this month. On Tuesday, April 7, at 4 p.m., we're going to be making Easter crafts. On Saturday, April 11, at 3 p.m., we're going to have our very first, "Fancy Nancy" party. Come dressed in your fancy dresses or suits, tiaras or crowns, boas and all your bling. We'll have "Fancy Nancy" stories and lots of "Fancy" foods and drink.

April 12 through April 18 is National Library Week. We will be having lots of fun activities. On Wednesday, April 15, you can come make a craft about spring. On Thursday at the Garcia Library, (next door to Kaffie Middle School) from 3 to 5 p.m., is your chance to get a signed children's book. We will have two children authors, Jan Peck and David Duke and children's book illustrator Don Tate visiting us for the Children's Book Festival, and this is your chance to have a book dedicated to your child or grandchild and signed by the authors or illustrator. The books will be for sale at the signing.

Friday morning, April 17, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. is our annual "Children's Book Festival", on the East Del Mar Campus in front of the "White" Library. Each author and illustrator will be in a tent telling stories and illustrating stories. We also have a free music tent. There will be juice and a free book for each child attending. This is a free event and everyone is welcome to come.

Our P.J. storytime is on Tuesday nights at 7 p.m.

Come dressed in your pajamas and bring your favorite animal or blanket for some bedtime stories.

On Wednesdays we will have our Family storytime at 11 a.m. (we've changed back to 11 a.m.) On Thursdays we have our baby/toddler storytime at 10:15 a.m. If you're home bored with your young child come join our family for 20 minutes.

On Thursdays at 11 a.m. we will have family storytime (this is a repeat of the Wednesday program).

Come check out what your library has for you and your child in April.
