It is interesting to see the interactions between certain school board members and the superintendent of RISD.

Experience and education are certainly excellent variables that help individuals make informed decisions for oneself or others for that matter. In this case, decisions are supposed to be made for the children of our community. It is sad that certain school board members are easily coerced into making decisions based on their own personal interests (i.e. money and special favors).

When are we going to be able to move forward? School board meetings are important for all citizens to attend. Every parent should attend a meeting in order for them to witness the language and behavior that members have for each other and for the superintendent.

Everyone deserves respect. It should start at the top of the school board and filter its way into our schools and classrooms. Establishing healthy boundaries as far as communication with members of the audience and the board is a start.
