Empty rhetoric
Updated: February 21, 2012 - 11:36 am

When the Obama Administration's healthcare financing plan was signed into law, President Obama and Congress promised that funds under the new law would not cover abortions. This has now been proven to be empty rhetoric. Why? Because the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has mandated that under the health care law, private health insurance plans must cover the "full range of FDA approved contraception" - in which category HHS explicitly included the abortion-inducing drug ella This mandate includes a so-called "religious employer exemption," yet the exemption is so narrowly defined that most religious schools, colleges, hospitals and charitable organizations serving the public do not qualify. Even an expanded definition of "religious employer" would fail to protect non-religiously. affiliated organizations, individuals and even religiously affiliated health insurers whose pro-life consciences are nonetheless violated. This is an unprecedented attack on the freedom of conscience of millions of Americans, eviscerating their freedom of choice to purchase private insurance that does not violate their ethical, moral or religious objections. r·hope all readers will contact their elected representatives in Washington, D.C., and voice outrage over this anti-life mandate.

Thank you for donatinng to Ag. Mechanics Division

Thank you so much for donating to the Ag. Mechanics Division for the Nueces County Junior Livestock Show. Our names are Macie and Case Scarborough. We were a sister and brother team. This is our second year to work together. We love building shop projects! With the help of our dad,we have really learned a lot! This year we built a fork lift buddy! It attaches to the fork lift forks so trailers, BBQ pits and other things can be moved around quickly around the shop. It can also hold chains. We placed fourth in our class, and we also placed as finalists for Junior Showmanship. We were so excited! Because of generous people like you, we received ribbons, a drill, a socket set and a welding helmet! We can't wait to use them! Thank you so much for your donations. Ag. Mechanics is a wonderful way to help learn new skills that can be used in life. We are looking forward to doing more projects in the future. Once again, thank you so much for helping to make the Nueces County Junior Livestock Show as the greatest and largest county show in the United States of America!
