Shoreline Boulevard Project Complete

The major street construction on Shoreline Boulevard associated with the Bond 2008 project is complete. On Friday, February 27, traffic will be diverted to the newly constructed lanes and off the northbound Shoreline Boulevard traffic lanes, which will permanently be blocked from vehicular traffic. Two lanes in each direction will be open to traffic on the newly aligned roadway.

201 Road Projects Receieve Funds

AUSTIN – Three short months after Texas voters approved Proposition 1, adding $1.74 billion to the state highway fund, the Texas Transportation Commission today approved the construction of 201 road projects giving momentum to much-needed progress across the state. Starting in March, the Texas Department of Transportation will begin awarding projects to contractors with construction kicking off soon after.


Northerly Winds Hold Potential for Rip Currents

Northerly winds this morning will become more easterly through the afternoon, and especially tonight, along Gulf-facing beaches. The combination of strong easterly winds and an increase in swell will lead to a high risk of rip currents. The greatest threat will be from St. Joseph Island southward to the Padre Island National Seashore.

Truck hit from behind in Agua Dulce

A Nueces County Appraisal District vehicle was rear-ended Wednesday afternoon on Highway 44 in Agua Dulce as it was traveling on the Highway taking pictures, DPS officials said.

Rylee Williams Awarded Scholarship

CORPUS CHRISTI - Rylee Williams was the winner of the Junior Livestock Show Essay Scholarship Contest which was sponsored by Mike Shaw Toyota. Today she was presented with her scholarship as well as a photo of the announcement of her winning.

Students Place in Regional Science Fair

CORPUS CHRISTI - The Valero Energy, Coastal Bend Community Foundation, and Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi Regional Science Fair was held Friday, Feb. 20, and Saturday, Feb. 21, in the American Bank Center 1st floor exhibit halls. The 27th annual regional Science Fair is affiliated with the Texas state science fair and the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair.

Veterans Cemetery Continues to Honor Soldiers

CORPUS CHRISTI - The Veterans Cemetery first opened in 2011 and has since become a dedicated resource for veterans services. In the past three years the staff has done their best to maintain the grounds as well as hold special ceremonies during Memorial Day and Veterans Day.
