Nueces County Tax Assessor-Collector Kevin Kieschnick would like to remind everyone that the Tax Office reopened for business on Tuesday Jan. 3.
According to most tax preparers, Dec. 31 is the last day to pay property taxes and claim the payment as a deduction for their 2016 Income Tax Deductions.
The Dec. 31 deadline is traditionally the 2nd busiest collection day of the tax cycle. Those who wish to skip the line and the wait should utilize our no fee online E-Check option. Just have your checking account number and routing number nearby when logging to https://actweb.acttax.com/act_webdev/nueces/
If you choose to come in, help us reduce your wait time by bringing your tax statement with you when paying your bill. Those who wish to not wait in line and have a paid receipt mailed to them may use our drop box located on the 3rd floor by the tax office. Please include a check and the statement(s) for the property(s) being paid.
The last day to pay your 2016 property tax bill without penalty and interest will be on Tuesday, Jan. 31. Accounts not paid by Jan. 31 become delinquent on February 1, per the Texas Property Tax Code 33.01.
