CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The Corpus Christi Regional Transportation Authority (CCRTA) will be available this Thursday, Friday and Monday from 7:00 A.M.- 9:00 A.M. at four of the Corpus Christi transfer stations (Staples Street, Six Points, Port Ayers and Southside) to speak with riders about current and upcoming detours that may affect their routes.

The City of Corpus Christi is currently at the height of its construction with Bond projects that are affecting multiple streets throughout the Corpus Christi. The CCRTA has had to reroute and detour various routes throughout the city in order to avoid street construction, as well as to offer safe and feasible paths of travel for all customers to stay in compliance with ADA regulations.

“We understand that these reroutes will be of inconvenience to our customers and we want you to know that we hear you and we are doing our best to find feasible solutions that will assist everyone. We thank you for all of your patience,” said CCRTA CEO, Jorge Cruz-Aedo.

The Corpus Christi Bond Program is another major source of funding for capital improvements for Corpus Christi. The city Bond projects are designed to rebuild streets and offer various improvements throughout Corpus Christi.

In order to better service our customers the CCRTA will be out at each of its Corpus Christi transfer stations from 7:00 A.M -9:00 A.M, Thursday, June 1; Friday, June 2; and Monday, June 5. CCRTA staff will be handing out important route information and answering questions that the public might have.

“We really want the public to understand that when we detour or move a route we have to consider passenger safety while still staying in compliance with various transit regulations. We thank our riders for all of your patience and ask that you to continue to bear with us through this time,” says CCRTA Marketing Director, Kelly Coughlin.

“There are various ways to get information to see if your route has been detoured and how long it will be detoured,” says Coughlin.

The CCRTA currently posts rider alerts for detours on its website, Transloc mobile application and in special occasions across all of the CCRTA social media platforms. The public is also welcome to call the CCRTA customer service line at 361-289-2712 for any questions or concerns regarding in route closures or detours.
