CORPUS CHRISTI – This year’s Mayor’s 4th of July Big Bang Celebration will celebrate the event’s 40th Anniversary in a big way. There will be a sparkling fireworks show from two locations - USS Lexington and a barge in the Corpus Christi Bay. The display will start at 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 4, which means spectators will have optimal fireworks viewing from North Beach to Cole Park.
Events leading up to the fireworks on July 4, include a Kid Zone and Game Zone by AEP Texas from 3 to 6 p.m., music and other entertainment, the Flint Hills Parade at 6 p.m., and the Harbor Bridge Light Show at 9 p.m. before the H-E-B Firework Show at 9:30 p.m. The colorful display will last about 20 minutes and will be synchronized to music.
"This year we have increased the activities for the kids to do," said Elizabeth Hardin with the City of Corpus Christi. "All of this is paid by sponsorships, no taxpayers money will be used."
Thanks to the generosity of our community partner, the Corpus Christi RTA will once again offer complimentary Park & Ride service for the Mayor’s Big Bang Celebration.
