The brother of convicted murderer is wanted by police for threats he made against an Alice police officer's family.
An officer responded to a call to a business on the 600 block of East Second Street where Amador Garza Jr., 31, was heard “venting” about how upset he was that his younger brother, Andres Garza was about to be sentenced to prison.
Andres Garza pled guilty Sept. 11 to two murder charges and an aggravated robbery charge. He was sentenced to a total of 125 years in a Texas prison for the murders of Marcelino Guerra and Robert Mata on County Road 464 near Green Acres in October 2015. After the murders, Andres and other men robbed the Sutherland's store.
A witness told police that Amador Garza Jr. stated he was going to shoot the officer's children, according to police report.
“A threat is a threat,” said Investigator Enrique Saenz. “(This threat) involves an officer's family who had nothing to do with this (case). The officer was just doing his job.”
Amador Garza Jr. is considered a dangerous man with an extensive criminal history including assault.
Anyone with information on Amador Garza Jr.'s whereabouts is asked to call police at 361-664-0186 or to Crime Stoppers of South Texas at 361-664- STOP ((7867).
