State Rep. Abel Herrero (D-Robstown) formally filed for re-election and announced his candidacy.

“Today (Nov.11), I filed for re-election to represent District 34 in the Texas House of Representatives. It has been an honor to serve the citizens of Nueces County and I am ready, willing and able to keep fighting for the Coastal Bend. Only by working together can we ensure that our local communities and all of Texas continue to thrive,” Herrero said.

Chairman Herrero is now serving his sixth term as a member of the Texas House of Representatives. He currently chairs the House Committee on Land and Resource Management and serves on the House Committee on Licensing and Administrative Procedures. He represents District 34, which includes Robstown, Bishop, Banquete, Petronila, Agua Dulce, Driscoll and parts of Corpus Christi and Sandia.
