Meet David Hochstetter, Roxana Peralez, and Gilbert Gonzalez. They were selected as the Proud You're a Picker Award recipients, Robstown ISD's employee recognition program, for the month of November. Each employee was nominated for going above and beyond their job duties. They are pictured here with Superintendent, Dr. Maria Vidaurri. Below are a few excerpts from their nomination:

David Hochstetter, Robstown Early College High School- Asst.. Band Director

Mr. Hochstetter spends countless hours that he dedicates to our students. He goes above and beyond, by taking care of the drumline needs, setting up electronics, marching band, assisting with setup for mariachi bands, and many times assists with the colorguard. He stays after school to help students one on one, aside from assigned sectionals. Mr. Hochstetter even spends a lot of time creating music for his students and developing unique activities to help his students succeed.  He built our props and has even gone as far to repair them himself when needed. He makes it fun to be a part of the band, and I know the students thoroughly enjoy having him as their teacher. I am proud to work alongside someone with such a positive work ethic.

Roxana Peralez, Seale Junior High- Nurse

Roxie is always going above and beyond for her students, she will never turn anyone away--students or employees, who need a helping hand. You can tell she genuinely loves the students and always provides quality care. She carries the traits of a wonderful nurse, displaying empathy, professionalism, and true compassion for what she does.

Gilbert Gonzalez, Robstown Early College High School- Teacher

This man has a passion for life, especially for his job as a teacher. He will go the extra mile for his students and the staff at RECHS without hesitation. Students love his class because they can genuinely feel that he cares about him and he teaches in a way that makes his lessons come alive. The way he ends his class on a daily basis says a lot about his character... every day he tells his students: " Everybody, have a great day. Be kind to each other. There's too much hate in this world already. It's okay to be nice."

These are just a few of the positive things that were submitted on each employees nomination form. Thank you for making us all #robstownproud. You three make the difference.
