The Sherman Police Department is searching for a suspect who was recorded on camera stealing $900 worth of vehicle wheels from Bob Utter Ford this week.
Sgt. Brett Mullen said the theft occurred at approximately 5:45 a.m. on Wednesday and was recorded by surveillance cameras on the property.
“Somehow, he got on the lot,” Mullen said. “His vehicle pulls around, he gets out and loads three 20-inch wheels, just the rims, puts them in the back seat and then drives off.”
Mullen described the suspect as a white male with a short haircut and a small patch of facial hair on his chin. He said the suspect left as a passenger in a light-colored passenger car, believed to be a Mazda 6. The Sherman Police sergeant said no description of the driver could be determined from the video footage, but the vehicle did sport a distinct dent underneath the rear left door handle.
Those with knowledge of the suspect’s identity or the theft are encouraged to call the Sherman Police Department’s non-emergency number at 903-892-7290.
