CORPUS CHRISTI – Motorists should expect nightly lane closures this week on both sides of SH 358 (South Padre Island Drive) between Nile Drive and Everhart Road and on the eastbound frontage road between Ayers Street and Kostoryz Road. The Richter Street/eastbound frontage road intersection will also close nightly.

These closures are scheduled through Thursday, March 15, from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. All work is weather permitting:

Main Lane Closures:

Monday, March 12

All eastbound lanes of SH 358 will be closed near Weber Road. Traffic will detour to the Weber Road exit ramp, proceed east on the frontage road, travel through the Weber Road and Everhart Road intersections and re-enter the freeway using the entrance ramp after Everhart Road.

The left two westbound lanes of SH 358 will be closed from Everhart Road to Weber Road.

Tuesday, March 13 and Wednesday, March 14

The left two eastbound lanes of SH 358 will be closed from Weber Road to Everhart Road.

All westbound lanes of SH 358 will be closed near Weber Road. Traffic will detour at the Weber Road exit ramp, proceed west on the frontage road, travel through the Weber Road intersection and reenter the freeway using the entrance ramp between Weber Road and Carroll Lane. 

Thursday, March 15 

The left two eastbound lanes of SH 358 will be closed from Carroll Lane to Weber Road.

All westbound lanes of SH 358 will be closed near Weber Road. Traffic will detour at the Weber Road exit ramp, proceed west on the frontage road, travel through the Weber Road intersection and reenter the freeway using the entrance ramp between Weber Road and Carroll Lane.

Eastbound Frontage Road Closures:

Through Thursday, March 15

The right lane of the eastbound frontage road will be closed for a short segment just east of Ayers Street. All driveways will remain accessible from the frontage road.

Richter Street/Eastbound Frontage Road Intersection Closures:

Through Thursday, March 15

·A 50-foot section of Richter Street will be closed at the eastbound frontage road. 

The speed limit in the construction area is 55 mph on the main lanes and 40 mph on the frontage road. Traffic fines double in work zones when workers are present.
