KINGSVILLE - The Texas A&M University-Kingsville Athletic Department will host the ninth annual Hoggie Hunt on Wednesday, March 28 at 5:45 p.m. at Javelina Stadium.

The Hoggie Hunt is sponsored by Whataburger, H-E-B, Buddy's Furniture and the Texas A&M University-Kingsville Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).

Participants will be divided into three age groups: one-to-five year olds, six-to-nine year olds and 10-and-up. The event will host an Easter egg hunt with a chance to win various prizes hidden inside of the eggs ranging from gift cards to bicycles.

The Make-a-Wish foundation will be accepting donations during the event. A table will be set up for all those who wish to give to the organization.

"It will be a great time for our community," said Fred Holmes, coordinator of student-athlete services. "Our student-athletes and SAAC look forward to giving back to the community and hosting a great event. All proceeds go to a great foundation in Make-A-Wish and we want to thank all of our sponsors for continuing to support this fantastic event."

"It's important to us at Whataburger to invest in our community, and Texas A&M University-Kingsville has been a fantastic partner," said Joe Lukefahr, Whataburger Director of Operations. "It's always fun to see the kids find their Easter eggs at the Hoggie Hunt, and we hope to see some new faces this year."

The community service project is the third of Whataburger's "Bring Home the W" campaigns. The promotion recognizes the athletic department's successes not only on the field and court, but in the community and classroom as well.
