Victoria Cathleen Garcia, the daughter of Monique Terrell Garcia and Mr. and Mrs. Reuben and Selina Garcia, is this week’s Teen of the Week.

I will be attending the University of Texas at San Antonio in the fall, majoring in Communication with a plan to become a Speech Pathologist. I will also be minoring in Business.

I have been a Health Occupations Students of America club member through my high school years. I also previously participated in the Alice band from my 7th grade year until my junior year. I participated in the Journalism Club, and was a Strutter Dance Team Manager.

I am a two year National Honor Society member. I am top 25% in my class, and take multiple AP classes.

The best advice I have ever received was, “Successful and unsuccessful people do not vary greatly in their abilities. They vary in their desires to reach their potential.” I love this advice because I believe that if you want a goal bad enough you will achieve it. It’s not about how good you are at something but how hard you work at it.

In 5 years I see myself still in school working to achieve my goal of being a speech pathologist.

If I could change anything about this world I would want people to be more sympathetic of others plights and difficulties. In my opinion we as a human population are too judgmental. We need more love to make this world a better place.

If I could invite 3 people to dinner I would invite, Oprah Winfrey, Khloe Kardashian, and Billie Holiday.

My favorite food is Pho from Hudat.

My favorite book is “A walk to remember”.

My favorite movie is “The Notebook”

My favorite town in Texas is San Antonio.

My favorite vacation spot is anywhere in Europe
