Corpus Christi, Texas – Performing for more than 30 years as lead vocalist for Conjunto La Suerte, Martina Garcia will give a live performance during this month’s Platicás Musicales. Wednesday, August 29 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Ben F. McDonald Public Library, located at 4044 Greenwood Drive.

A Beeville native, Garcia debuted with Hacienda Records back in 1993 and has composed much of her own music while performing with her band throughout South Texas. Back in 2014, she was inducted into the Tejano ROOTS Hall of Fame as Female Entertainer of the Year.

Local music historian Manuel Ayala will welcome the conjunto songstress during this month’s event as she performs an array of songs from Tejano music to Patsy Cline country classics.
