LANE CLOSURES CONTINUE ON SH 358

Sept. 9-13: Eastbound mainlane and frontage road lane closures

Corpus Christi – Motorists should continue to expect closures next week as construction progresses on SH 358 (South Padre Island Drive). Work will require overnight closures of all SH 358 eastbound mainlanes between Kostoryz Road and Weber Road and one eastbound frontage road lane east of Everhart Road.

Overnight closures are scheduled to be in effect from approximately 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. All work is weather permitting:

Eastbound Mainlane Closures

Sunday, Sept. 9, through Tuesday, Sept. 11, from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.: All SH 358 eastbound mainlanes will be closed between Kostoryz Road and Weber Road for pavement improvement work. All eastbound traffic will exit the freeway at the Kostoryz Road exit, travel on the frontage road through the Kostoryz Road, Carroll Lane, and Weber Road intersections, and re-enter the freeway east of Weber Road. Eastbound Frontage Road Lane and On-Ramp Closures

Sunday, Sept. 9, through Tuesday, Sept. 11, from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.: The eastbound on-ramp from Kostoryz Road will be closed. Frontage road traffic wishing to access the SH 358 mainlanes must travel through the Carroll Lane and Weber Road intersections and enter the freeway east of Weber Road. Sunday, Sept. 9, through Thursday, Sept. 13, from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.: One lane will be closed on the SH 358 eastbound frontage road east of Everhart Road. The speed limit in the construction area is 55 mph on the mainlanes and 40 mph on the frontage road. Drivers should be on the lookout for construction workers at all times along the entire SH 358 corridor, and are reminded that traffic fines double in work zones when workers are present.
