7 p.m. update: A few isolated storms are moving through the Austin area, Doppler radar shows.

A 20 percent chance of rain is forecast in Austin on Friday night, National Weather Service meteorologists said.

Earlier: Friday forecast for Austin: Forecasters are calling for partly sunny skies over Austin on Friday with highs near 85 degrees.

Daytime hours should remain dry through much of the region, but chances for showers are likely to return early Saturday.

Overnight temperatures are expected to drop to lows around 71 degrees.

A 30 percent chance of rain is expected around 1 a.m. Saturday, forecasters said.

The weekend is forecast to be rainy and cloudy, according to the weather service’s extended forecast:

Saturday: Mostly cloudy with a high near 83 and a 50 percent chance of rain. Mostly cloudy at night with a low around 70 and a 20 percent chance of rain.

Sunday: Mostly cloudy with a high near 85 and a 50 percent chance of rain. Mostly cloudy at night with a low around 71 and a 20 percent chance of rain.

Monday: Mostly cloudy with a high near 86 and a 40 percent chance of rain. Mostly cloudy at night with a low around 72.

Tuesday: Partly sunny with a high near 87 and a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy at night with a low around 73.

Wednesday: Partly sunny with a high near 88 and a 30 percent chance of rain. Partly cloudy at night with a low around 72.

Thursday: Mostly sunny with a high near 86 and a 20 percent chance of rain.
