Site work has begun in preparation for a new business modular building for Robstown's Emergency Medical Services Department.

Crews from the city's Public Works Department were busy last week leveling out the ground in preparation for the 28-by-70 foot modular building. It will be located on city property along Avenue B, immediately east of the Fire Department.

More than 10 EMS personnel will be moving out of the fire station and into the building by the first week in August, said City Secretary Paula Wakefield

The new building is one of three projects currently underway around the city, including a $47,000 face-lift at the fire station and a $48,000 renovation at the police department.

Roads throughout Robstown are also being repaved as part of the citywide capital improvements project.
