The county's newest library has had its doors open for less than a month and is already receiving funds to upgrade parts of its technological infrastructure.

Nueces County Commissioners last week accepted a $4,900 grant from the Texas Book Festival to upgrade the software on the county's new servers, as well as the installation of a search engine called AquaBrowser.

There is no match for the grant.

The TBF was founded in 1996 by current First Lady Laura Bush and a group of volunteers.
