The Northwest Business Association awarded three scholarships to local high school graduates.

Each recipient received $500 to be paid to their college of choice. The scholarship committee, which consisted of Josh Wilson, Nora Perez, and Alice Thomas, received over 40 applications.

After many days and hours of decision making, the scholarships were awarded to Sawyer Stephen Lambert of Calallen High School, Hilary McFaddin of Tuloso-Midway High School and Valerie Infante of Robstown High School.

The NWBA holds many fundraisers in order to raise funds to offer these scholarships to local graduates. Their main fundraiser is the Taste of NorthWest Business Expo, which was held on Sept. 15 at the Richard M. Borchard Regional Fairgrounds.
