A Corpus Christi woman was arrested last week after she reportedly stabbed two people while picking up her children.

Corpus Christi police said they received a call at 1:14 p.m. on July 13 about a disturbance at a home in the 9100 block of Simon Drive. Upon arrival, officers found two individuals who had been stabbed.

Police said 39-year-old Brenda Reyna went to the home to pick up her children when she allegedly got into an argument with the childrenís 33-year-old aunt. During the confrontation, Reyna reportedly pulled out a knife and stabbed the female victim multiple times in her arms, upper torso and hip area.

Police said the childrenís 29-year-old father, who is also the female victimís brother, tried to break up the fight. He sustained a defensive cut to his right hand. All injuries appeared to be non-life threatening, police said, and both victims were transported to CHRISTUS Spohn Memorial Hospital.

Police said the children did not witness the event.

Reyna was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated assault. She was booked into the City Detention Center and later transported to the Nueces County Jail.
