The Catholic Daughters of America Court SOR Carmen No. 1724 of St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church in Robstown celebrated National CDA Day with a Mass on Oct. 24.
The church's pastor, Father Dennis Walsh, conducted the Mass.
A proclamation from Robstown Mayor Rodrigo Ramon Jr. designating Oct. 17 as Catholic Daughters of the Americas Day was presented and ready by Walsh. A reception followed at Lupita's Family Restaurant, with 25 members and their families in attendance.
The local group currently has 36 members. Anyone 18 years of age or older is welcome to participate in the organization, church officials said. New members are encouraged to attend a meeting held the second Wednesday of every month, beginning at 6 p.m., at the Youth Center.
