A mother and daughter pair of authors from Kingsville will be visiting several Western Nueces County schools in order to promote the proper treatment of animals and each other.

Melissa Webb and her 9-year-old daughter, Lexy, are the authors of a children's book titled "Zoe the Earless Kitten: Adoption." The visits are part of a lead-up to "National Make a Difference Day" on Oct. 25, during which people around the nation are urged to conduct an act of goodwill for someone in need.

The pair will be visiting Tuloso-Midway Intermediate Oct. 7, from noon to 2 p.m., for a reading and book signing.

The next few stops include a visit to Agua Dulce Elementary School Oct. 21 at 1 p.m. for a reading and book signing, then an Oct. 23 appearance at Driscoll Elementary School, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., in the library.
