Crash Test Puppets and Sheltered Sparrow Productions have initiated the process for their bid to host the 15th annual Texas Non-Profit Theatre Youth Conference in Corpus Christi June 2010.

Tammy Clark, Kevin Argetsinger and their troupe of children, ages 8 to 16, have been active participants at the past four youth conferences held in Denton, Bryant-College Station, Pasadena and Arlington.

Sheltered Sparrow Productions attended the conference as observers when it was in Bryant-College Station and will bring their Annaville-based troupe of children, ages 6 to 18, to the June 2009 event. Sparrow's Annaville group at the Hilltop Community Center has 32 children enrolled for the fall production of Disney's Cinderella Kids.

The partnership held its first planning meetings in February, and met with Brianne Secorsky of the Texas State Aquarium on Aug 19 to view the facility as the site for the welcome event.

TNT youth conference draws performing theatre troupes, observer troupes and families from throughout the state. Fifteen troupes are pre-selected to perform at the conference.

Organizers said it is the host troupe's responsibility to plan and organize the event, engage sites and partners, recommend hotels and tourist attractions for the families that will spend a summer week in Corpus Christi. The event is open to the community.
