AUSTIN - The Texas Association of REALTORS(r) has announced its endorsement of state Rep. Abel Herrero, D-Robstown.

Chairman Randy Jeffers applauded the District 34 representative in the Texas House of Representatives for his commitment to Texas homeowners.

"Real estate continues to be a driving economic force in Texas," Jeffers said. "Abel Herrero has vowed to represent the concerns of Texas homeowners, which is why the Texas Association of Realtors has pledged its full support and endorsement."

Currently, Texas ranks 42nd among states in homeownership. Jeffers said electing lawmakers who understand homeowners' concerns and acting to bolster homeownership in Texas is the association's top priority this election season.

Herrero has been a member of the Texas House for more than three years.

"I am honored to have the endorsement of the 90,000 members of the Texas Association of Realtors," Herrero said. "As small business owners, Texas Realtors make the dream of homeownership more affordable for all Texans and I will strive to help support this important goal."
