Residents of the Retama Manor Nursing Center and their families participated in a parade July 3 celebrating the Fourth of July holiday.
Activity director Yolanda Ramos said family members and employees were asked to help residents decorate their wheelchairs, with an award being given for the best decorated. Josie Rodriguez, 77, won the first place trophy for having the "Best Decorated" wheelchair.
An award was also given out for the best dressed resident of the event. Trina Guerra, 88, was named "Best Dressed" for the nursing center's festivities.
"We want to thank all the families that helped and participated in the event," Ramos said.
