St. Anthony's Altar Server Recognition Mass was held Oct. 3 at the noon Mass at St. Anthony's Catholic Church.

There are 20 altar girls, beginning with three Eucharistic cross bearers. The Eucharistic cross bearer is an altar server who has served for at least three years and is traditionally a freshman in high school. They are:

Other female altar servers are Desirae McCrackin, recipient of the Outstanding Server Award and the Altar Girls 2010 Fiesta Mexicana Queen Candidate, and Jesslynn Escamilla, the Altar Girls 2011 Fiesta Mexicana Queen Candidate.

The remaining female altar servers are Lourdes Cortez, Enissa Flores, Marina Flores, Julia Gonzales, Mia Hinojosa, Julissa Martinez, Rebecca Martinez, Elexis Reyna, Kaitilyn Ramos, Jo Marie Stone, Ahlex Velasco, Celess Velasco, Lauren Gonzalez, Victoria Gonzalez and Veronica Ramirez.

The coordinator is Katy Saenz, who is assisted by Patricia Saenz. Girls meet every second Saturday of the month at 11 a.m. in the St. Anthony's Youth Center.

There are also 18 altar boys serving, as well. They include Rodolfo Gonzalez, recipient of the Outstanding Server Award and William Stone, recipient of the 10-Year Service Award.

Other altar servers are Victor Armadillo, Roger Garcia, Alredo Garcia Jr., Jacob Garza, Ryan Garza, Mark McCracken, Zachary Moses, Nicholas Paredez, Austin Ramos, Robert Ramos and Noah De Los Santos.

Five altar boys in training are Isaias Gonzales, Christian Martinez, Benjamin Michael Medrano, Raul Jose Morales and Remy Rangel.

Coordinators are Robert Ramos and Father Mike Crump. The awards were presented by Father Dennis Walsh.

A turkey and dressing lunch reception was celebrated at Lupita's Family Restaurant immediately following the awards ceremony.
