Robstown High School has received a healthy donation to its art department after being named the winner of an art contest.

Students from Calallen, Robstown and Tuloso-Midway high schools were given $500 and a used car to create artistic depictions of school spirit. The cars have been on display since early February, but it was announced last week that Robstown High School had won both categories in the contest.

Students from Robstown had decorated 1997 Chrysler Concorde into a custom race car with many of the school's logos and club emblems on the car's body.

The car was named the People's Choice winner, which awards the school's art department with $1,500 cash. The vehicle was also named the Art Enthusiasts winner, which earned the art department an additional $500.
