Seven-year old Serah Kate Blair knows how important hair can be to a person, especially to a child.

For this reason, Serah decided to donate her hair to the Locks of Love organization. With the help of Roxanne Wilson at Bedazzled Day Spa and Salon cutting the required 10 inches of hair to be donated, her ponytail will help someone less fortunate.

"At first, I thought that I just wanted to cut my hair. But then I thought a little girl would need my hair because she has cancer," Serah said.

Locks of Love is a non-profit organization that provides wigs and hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children under the age of 18 suffering from long-term medical hair loss, such as alopecia, treatment for cancer and victims of severe burns.

More than 2,000 hair donations are received each week, with 80 percent of the donations coming from children.

Serah is the daughter of Trace and Julie Blair and granddaughter of Harold and Clarisse Blair and John and Susan McCain.
