The Nueces County Drainage District No. 2 will hold a commissioners election May 10.
The district's last election was September 2004 and the new date was set by the Texas secretary of state.
Three commissioner seats are up for election and interested individuals have until March 10 to file for a place on the ballot. Individuals can sign up at the Drainage District office at 603 E. Avenue A in Robstown.
Citizens interested in running for commissioner must live within the drainage district's boundaries.
The 1,500-square-mile drainage district is bordered to the north by County Road 44, to the south by County Road 14A, on the west by Banquete Creek and on the east by County Road 61. The district includes Robstown and Petronilla.
The first day to apply for an absentee ballot is March 11 and the last day to apply for a ballot by mail is May 2.
The last day to register to vote is April 10.
Early voting will take place between April 28 and May 6 at the Johnny S. Calderon Building at 710 E. Main Ave. in Robstown. For more information, call the drainage district at 387-4015.
