Del Mar College's Small Business Development Center (SBDC) has relocated its satellite office from the Robstown Area Development Center to the College's Northwest Center in Calallen. The SBDC's relocation extends counseling services to the growing communities of small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs centrally located in the county's northwest area.
"By having our Northwest SBDC satellite office visible, centrally located and in close proximity to many banks, existing businesses and high-traffic commuters traveling into and out of Corpus Christi, we're meeting our mission to foster small business success," says Celia Garza, a certified business advisor with the College's SBDC. "Conducting some of our small business training workshops and providing one-on-one business counseling at this facility will help business owners in the northwest area reduce cost in two areas-travel and time."
Del Mar College's Northwest Center is located at 13724 Northwest Blvd. near the Intersection of Highway 77 and FM 624 in Calallen. Garza accommodates and meets with scheduled small business owners at the facility every Thursday and conducts monthly training seminars or workshops to assist business owners with starting-up or operating their businesses more efficiently and effectively.
The SBDC is a partnership program between Del Mar College and the U.S. Small Business Administration. America's SBDCs provide management and technical assistance to more than 1.2 million small business owners each year.
