SAN ANTONIO - More than 600 Catholic Life Insurance members and their families met July 11 and 12 at the Crowne Plaza Riverwalk in San Antonio for the fraternal life insurer's 91st convention.

Elvera Swetlick, Marguerite Roeder and Mathilda Simnacher represented the 425-member Robstown Branch of Catholic Life Insurance as delegates to the convention.

During the two-day meeting, delegates heard reports given by Catholic Life Insurance officials reflecting the impressive growth of the organization since the last convention and reaffirming Catholic Life's financial strength.

"For more than 107 years, individuals, families, and businesses have looked to Catholic Life Insurance to secure their family's future," said president and chief executive officer J. Michael Belz. "We continue to meet their needs through solid life insurance, safe retirement products, superior service, and value-added living and fraternal benefits that enrich lives and strengthen communities."

In other action, delegates elected two individuals to serve on the eight-member board of directors. Gladys Haecker of Schertz and Tom Berger of Magnolia were both elected to a four-year term. They will join Mike Decker of San Angelo, Sixtus Laskowski of Stockdale, Tom Sladecek of Jarrell, James Persyn of San Antonio, Lawrence Shimek of Nada and Keneth Littles of Palmer on the board.

Following the convention, the board of directors met and elected Sladecek as chairman, Kenneth Littles as vice chairman and Michael Decker as secretary.
