The Nueces County Commissioners Court is considering appointments to the Citizen's Advisory Board on Health and Welfare.

The board, created under the Texas Health and Safety Code, consists of 11 members; five appointed by commissioners court, five by Corpus Christi, and one jointly by the city and the county.

The board elects its own president and vice president and is a collaborative partnership with the directors of the Department of Public Health and Department of Human Services.

The board meets at 11:30 a.m. on the third Wednesday of every month at the City-County Health Department at 1702 Horne Road in Corpus Christi.

Interested Nueces County residents are invited to submit a letter of application, with attached resume of qualifications, to the Nueces County Commissioners Court.

Applications should be addressed to Nueces County Judge Samuel L. Neal Jr., Attention: Citizen's Advisory Board on Health and Welfare, 901 Leopard St., Room 303, Corpus Christi, Texas 78401.

Applications must be received by 5 p.m. May 21.
