A local man wanted in connection with two cases of alleged sexual abuse of a child was caught in Starr County on Wednesday.

Ricardo Zamora, 42, was arrested through the combined efforts of the U.S. Marshal's Gulf Coast Taskforce and U.S. Marshals based in McAllen. Nueces County Sheriff's Department Lt. Ashly Isaacs said Zamora was apprehended without incident.

Zamora was wanted for alleged sexual abuse of a child. He is charged at this time with one count of continuous sexual abuse of two minor children over the course of more than one year, Isaacs said.

Zamora is currently being held at the Starr County Jail where he is awaiting extradition back to Nueces County. Local authorities have 10 days to pick up Zamora following his arrest.
