An eight-minute film created by Kippy Edge of Robstown was recently selected as a semifinalist in Texas Monthly magazine's annual short film contest.
In the film, “Robstown is Just Right,” Edge speaks energetically about the town and its history, utilizing props and various graphics to tell the story. Edge’s short film is one of 15 semifinalists readers will be able to vote for in the magazine’s competition, which tasked filmmakers to tell a story about their hometowns in 10 minutes or less.
Voting will run through Aug. 15.
The top two entries selected will be screened at the Official Shorts Program at the 18th Austin Film Festival, which will take place Oct. 20-27 in Austin. To view Edge’s film, along with the other contests, visit http://www.texasmonthly.com/multimedia/filmcontest/2011/10.
