Boy Scouts from Troop 10 in Robstown spent four days at the Lost Maples State Natural Area in July.
Some of the activities the scouts participated in included hiking, swimming, star watching and map orienteering. Each scout hiked about 15 miles during their trip and also participated in a service project benefitting Lost Maples State Natural Area.
The highlight for most of the scouts was drinking fresh spring water coming from the hillside after a hot and rocky five-mile hike. Next summerís camping trip will be to Big Bend National Park in West Texas.
Troop 10 is sponsored by and meets at New Life Baptist Church in Calallen every Wednesday at 8:30pm. Anyone wishing to join can call Scoutmaster Raul Elizondo at (361) 767-0369.
