Xeriscape Corpus Christi, a nonprofit organization, is seeking volunteers for its next Xeriscape Garden Work Day.
The event will be held from 8:30 a.m. until noon on Thursday at the Xeriscape Learning Center and Design Garden. The garden is located at the entrance to the Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History, 1900 N. Chaparral Street.
Master Gardener Leland Johnson oversees the maintenance of the garden and will provide guidance to those taking part in the workday.
Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own gardening tools.
The Xeriscape Garden is an award-winning project that demonstrates the 7 principles of Xeriscape. The garden, which is open free of charge year-round, encourages local residents and businesses to develop garden landscapes with plants that use less water than much of the vegetation that many people have typically used in landscaping projects.
Volunteers can show up at the garden on the workday, or they can call 857-1614 for more information.
