The free Mission of Mercy Mobile Clinic will be servicing several towns outside of the Corpus Christi area this summer.

The mobile clinic, which provides basic health care and medications, will make stops at First United Methodist Church of Bishop, El Redentor United Methodist Church of Robstown and St. John of the Cross Catholic Church of Orange Grove.

The clinic will be in Bishop July 7 and 28, Robstown July 14 and Orange Grove on July 21.

To schedule an appointment at any of these locations call 594-9000 on Mondays, Wednesdays or Fridays between 2 and 4 p.m.

Mission of Mercy is a nonprofit organization providing free basic healthcare and medications to people who do not qualify for government programs, are underinsured or have no medical insurance.

Prescription medications are dispensed from the clinic pharmacy to Mission of Mercy patients.

Dr. Coleen Madigan, medical director for the clinic, says that there is room for three physicians and physician assistants at this time.

Any physician interested in volunteering to see patients from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for a half-day or one day during a one month commitment should call (361) 883-5500.

Drivers for the clinic and light clerical data entry workers are also needed.

The Texas A&M Health Science Center Coastal Bend Health Education Center will offer a Prescription Assistance Program from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Wednesday at The First Christian Church, 1900 S. Brahma Blvd.
