The 27th annual Cottonfest will kick off this weekend in Robstown, and a number of events and activities await attendees.

The two-day event, put on every year by the Robstown Area Development Commission in conjunction with local businesses and entities, will feature live music by a number of Tejano bands, including Los Arias and Grupo Vida.

Solido is scheduled to take the stage on Saturday, followed by The Hometown Boys on Sunday.

In addition to the musical entertainment, area businesses and residents will be on hand to sell various items, such as arts and crafts, at vendor booths.

A mixed martial arts exhibit and CGA cheerleaders routine are also on the schedule.

Adults will also be able to witness a Man vs. Food eating competition, or take part in a silent auction. A turtle race, car show, and fajita and chili cook-off are also parts of this weekend's schedule.

Admission and parking is free to Cottonfest for each day of the event.
