Robstown Masonic Lodge No. 1062 held an "Appreciation Supper" last week in honor of two of its most distinguished Masonic members.

Alton "Hutch" Hutchinson and Roy Gillespie, both 32nd degree Master Masons, were honored at the event, which was held Aug. 19 at Joe Cotten's Barbecue in Robstown. More than 45 Master Masons, along with their wives and children, from Alice, Corpus Christi, Rockport and surrounding areas, attended the supper.

Tom Wimberly, Past Master of Corpus Christi Masonic Lodge No. 189, conducted the invocation.

Hutchinson has been an active member of the Robstown Masonic Lodge for more than 50 years. He is a Past Master, an instructor of the esoteric, and a lifetime member of the Committee on Work, which is an authority on the esoteric ritual of a Masonic Lodge. Hutchinson is also a member of the York and the Scottish Rite.

Gillespie, also a Scottish Rite member, is a 32nd degree Master Mason who was the Robstown Lodge Secretary for over 42 years and was always present at meetings.

Together, the two men have over 100 years of experience in the Masonic Lodges.

Worshipful Master David Garza of S.B. Mosser Lodge No. 912 in Alice presented each man with a Certificate of Appreciation for their many years of service to his Lodge.

Jerry Smith, Past Master of S.B. Mosser Lodge No. 912, took photographs for the Lodge Archives.
