A chairman for the six-member Nueces County Airport Advisory Board has been named.

Corpus Christi resident Glenn Lyons was appointed by County Judge Loyd Neal to serve as chairman for the board, which was reformed in July to serve in an advisory capacity to Nueces County Commissioners.

Lyons was appointed to the board last month, along with fellow members Hugo Berlanga, Sam Dalton, Cecil Johnson Jr., Robert Lacy Jr. and Harish N. Shah. He had been nominated by Neal for an at-large seat on the board, receiving a majority vote to get appointed.

Lyons, who owns two businesses in real estate and investments, has previously served on the Corpus Christi International Airport's Advisory Board during the construction of a new airport terminal. He is also a licensed private pilot, with more than 8,000 hours of flight time logged.
