Juan Guillermo Carrion, 53, died Thursday, Aug. 7, 2008.

He was born March 21, 1955 in Corpus Christi to Guillermo and Elvira Carrion, but had resided in Robstown most of his life. He was a graduate of Robstown and attended Del Mar College where he received an associate's degree. He was a former employee of the Coca Cola Bottling Co. and a lieutenant with the Nueces County Constables Precinct #5 for 23 years, a former member of the Knights of Columbus, and a member of St. John Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, Julia Carrion of Robstown; one daughter, Andrea (Benicio) Pena of Corpus Christi; five sons, Juan G. Carrion II of Robstown, Richard R. Ortiz of Corpus Christi, Marco A. (Betty) Ortiz of San Antonio, Father Jose A. Ortiz of Gregory, Juan M. (Christine) Ortiz of Fredericksburg, Va.; his parents, Guillermo and Elvira Carrion; three sisters, Maria R. Carrion of Corpus Christi, Christina (Hector) Hernandez of El Paso, and Jessica (Joe) Ayala of Robstown; 13 grandchildren; two nieces; two nephews; and other relatives and friends.

A Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 10, at St. John Catholic Church. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 3 p.m. Monday, Aug. 11, at St. John Catholic Church. Interment followed at St. Anthony Cemetery.
