Elva Serna, 69, passed away on Monday, Feb. 8, 2010. She was born on Sept. 11, 1940 in Robstown, Texas to Jose and Guadalupe Sotelo Serna. She was a Catholic, a homemaker and a lifelong resident of Robstown.

Survivors are her children, Joe Serna, Ana (Rodolfo) Pena, Javier Serna, all of Robstown, Texas, and Diana Ventura of Chicago, Ill.; her brothers, Jose Serna of Rio Grande, Texas, Andrew Serna and Eleazar Hernandez, both of Robstown, Texas; her sisters, Juana Sanchez, Guadalupe Rocha, both of Robstown, Texas, Olga Soto of Okla., Oralia Alvear of Chicago, Ill.; seven grandchildren, Rudy (Josie) Pena, Edwin (Jackie) Pena, Michael Pena, Jose Pena, Melissa Pena, Raven Pena, and Isabel Pena; two great-grandchildren, Leticia Pena, and E.J. Pena; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2010 and on Thursday, Feb. 11, 2010 at Ramon Funeral Home Chapel in Robstown, Texas. The Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 12, 2010 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Robstown, Texas. Interment followed at St. Anthony's Cemetery in Robstown, Texas.
