Kenneth R. Shores, 79, of Agua Dulce died on Saturday, Aug. 8, 2009.

He was born Nov. 19, 1929 in Lawn to Ottice and Evelyn Williams Shores. He attended schools in Corpus Christi and graduated from Corpus Christi High School in 1947.

He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1950 until 1953. Kenneth married Noel Miller from Anaconda, Mont. in 1951.

They raised their family in Tivoli, where he farmed and ranched, and was a member of the Austwell-Tivoli I.S.D. Board for over 20 years.

He also worked for Union Carbide in Seadrift until 1985 when he moved to Alice to work for Dixie Iron Works and was working for Excel Pump and Machine in Robstown until the time of his death.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Harold Shores.

He is survived by his wife, Noel; his son, Eddie Shores and wife Brandy and their children, Ross and Jack; his daughter, Sarah Knopp and her husband Rex and their children, Kody (Sherry), Ryan (Veronica), Will, Drina and Kristofer; daughter, Martha Buhler and her husband Bobby and their children, Jordan, Philip and Maddy; great grandchildren, Katie and Isabella; and his sister-in-law, Maxine Shores.

Memorial services were conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12, in Grace United Methodist Church with Jim Callaway officiating.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Angel Bright Hospice or to a favorite charity.
