Robert Glen "Bob" Horny, 68, of Corpus Christi died on Thursday, Feb. 19, 2009 after a short illness.

Bob was born Sept. 7, 1940 in Goliad to Benjamin and Agnes McGrew Horny. He was a member of St. Peter, Prince of the Apostles Catholic Church. He worked many years in the electrical supply business, managing both Amfac Electric Supply and Flato Electric Supply. He recently was employed as a sales representative at Gulf Coast Nut & Bolt Supply. He enjoyed being an active member of the Kiwanis Club of Corpus Christi, serving as a member of the board of directors.

Survivors are his wife, Betty Naylor Horny; daughter, Heather (Blake) Masters; sons, William M. Moore, John David (Shelia) Moore and Michael K. Moore (Philip Condon); three grandchildren, Mandy Moore (Billy) Smith, Josh (Ashley) Moore, and Wilson Glen Masters; three great-grandchildren, Jacob Moore, Madison Moore and Megan Moore; a brother, Benjamin (Jane) Horny; a sister, Linda Horny (Cobby) Cobarruvias; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A Rosary was recited at 6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 22, in the Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday, Feb. 23, at 10 a.m. at St. Peter, Prince of the Apostles Catholic Church with the Rev. Msgr. Morgan Rowsome as celebrant.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kiwanis Club of Corpus Christi or to your favorite charity.
