Andrew Wayne Davis, 22, of Bishop died Friday, Jan. 23, 2009 in a tragic accident.
He was born May 22, 1986 in San Angelo.
He is preceded in death by his father, Rodney Wayne Davis; his paternal grandparents, John and Jessie Davis; his maternal grandfather, Milton Hoelscher; and his uncle, Ralph Hoelscher.
Survivors include his mother, Mary C. Davis, of Bishop; one brother, Mark C. Davis, of Madison, N.J.; his grandmother, Margaret Mary Hoelscher of Alice; Aunt Rita (Jim) Hausman of Mooresville, N.C.; cousins, Michelle and Kristen Hausman, both of Mooresville, N.C.; Aunt Becky L. (Alton) Moore of Corpus Christi; cousins, Mitchell and Amy Moore; and numerous additional cousins and countless friends.
Andrew was a 2004 Bishop High School alumnus and graduated in December 2008 from Texas A&M University- Kingsville with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Business, and had begun his graduate studies in Agricultural Business. He was employed at Robstown Hardware while pursuing his studies and an active member of the Bishop Volunteer Fire Department for many years.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, barbecuing and spending time with his family and close friends. He particularly enjoyed memorable family trips snow skiing and visiting his brother in New York City.
A Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 26, at St. Gertrude Catholic Church in Kingsville. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27, at St. Gertrude Catholic Church in Kingsville. Burial followed at Roselawn Cemetery in Alice.
In lieu of flowers, the family has established a scholarship fund in Andrew's memory at Kleberg Bank in Kingsville.
