Emma G. Romero, 59, passed away on January 18, 2012, surrounded by her loving family, as she went to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Emma was a life-long resident of Robstown, Texas where she dedicated her entire life to providing for the needs of her loved ones.
Emma is preceded in death by her father, Manuel M. Gonzalez, and is fondly remembered as a loving mother, wife, sister, and friend whose kind-hearted spirit touched all who knew her. Emma's sincere love and devotion to God, her family and friends, along with her gentle and graceful nature will be deeply missed, but endearing memories of her will live on, in the hearts of her loved ones.
Emma is survived by her devoted and loving husband, Osvaldo Romero, and children, Angela (Eddie) Perez, of Corpus Christi, Texas; Janice Joy Torrez of Corpus Christi, Texas; James R. (Linda) Torrez of San Diego, Calif.; and step-children, Osvaldo (Jessica) Romero Jr. of Corpus Christi, Texas; Isis (David) Romero-Stoessell of San Antonio, Texas; Iris Romero of Los Angeles, Calif.; and Eva Inez Romero of Houston, Texas.
Emma leaves behind her mother, Mrs. Celia Martinez Gonzales of Robstown, Texas; her sisters, Elida (Johnny) Sanchez of Agua Dulce, Texas; Celia (Joe) Torres of Sinton, Texas; Margie (Robert) Flores of Robstown, Texas; Victoria (Jerry) Resendez of Robstown, Texas; and brothers, Ruben (Mary) Gonzalez of Bishop, Texas; Roberto (Dalila) Gonzalez of Robstown, Texas; and Manuel Gonzalez Jr. of Corpus Christi, Texas.
She also leaves behind nine grandchildren Eduardo Perez, Jr., Alexandra Perez, Aaron Ramon, Brodrick Phillips, Ruben Torrez, Alejandra Torrez, Abigail Gonzalez, Osvaldo Daniel Romero, and Stephen Romero; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service celebrating the life of Emma G. Romero was held at Ramon Funeral Home Chapel, at 7 p.m., Friday, January 20, 2012. Funeral Services were at 2 p.m., Saturday, January 21, 2012, with the Rev. Ruben Gonzalez officiating. Interment followed at Memorial Park Cemetery in Robstown, Texas.
