Maria Luciana Paredez, 89, passed away Dec. 11, 2011.

Paredez was born Oct. 26, 1922 in Mexico to Apolonio and Tiburcia Esquivel Juarez. She was a Catholic, homemaker and a longtime resident of Banquete.

Paredez was also a member of the City of Corpus Christi RSVP, Senior Corps Organization and also of Nueces County Senior Citizens in Banquete.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers; husband, Juan Santos Paredez Sr.; and son, Gilbert Martinez.

She is survived by her daughters, Rosa Maria (the late Erasmo) Jimenez, Angie (Ramon) Garcia, Mary Ann (the late George) Perez, Rachel (Carlos) Ramirez and Rebecca (Johnny) Cisneros, all of Banquete, Josefina (Carson) Blevins of Corpus Christi, and Diana (Mario) Limon of Robstown; daughter-in-law, Terry (the late Gilbert) Martinez of Corpus Christi; sons, Juan Santos (Aurora) Paredez Jr., Lazaro (Nayda) Paredez and Apolonio “Polo” (Ester) Paredez, all of Robstown, Rudy (Angel) Paredez of Bishop and Esequiel “Kelo” (Rachel) Paredez of Banquete; three sisters, Guadalupe Juarez of Iowa, Socorro Corona and Mercedes Juarez, both of Chicago, Ill.; 46 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.

A Rosary was recited Dec. 13, 2011 and Dec. 14, 2011 at Ramon Funeral Home Chapel in Robstown.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 15, 2011 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Robstown. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Robstown.
