Patsy James Strickland of Sandia, formerly of Robstown, died Friday, dec. 26, 2008, with her family by her side.
She was born to Jessie and Leila James Sr. on March 2, 1933 in Okmogee, Okla.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Mont, Bill and Jessie James Jr.; a sister, Ruth Price; her husband of over 40 years, Johnnie Strickland; and most recently her daughter, Debbie Gaulding.
She is survived by two brothers, Jim (Jonnie) James of Mission, and Allen (Ann) James of Blue Ridge, Ga.; her sister-in-law, Sue James of Corpus Christi; her children, Karen (Richard) Mundy of Florida, twins, John (Becky) of Iowa, Patricia Lynn (Lonnie) Cluiss of Sandia, her daughter's husband, Murray Gaulding and son, Colt and Tyler, whom she lived with for 14 years; other grandchildren, Michelle (Chuck) Neal, and great-grandchild, Alan Neal of Bishop, Shawni and Daniel Hartley of Iowa, Gracie of Louisiana, Stacey of Las Vegas, Shelly (Sig) of Norway, Will (Vanessa) Mundy of New York, Chrissy (Jeff) of Florida, adoptive by love grandson, Donald Ray Peterson of Iowa; and five great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and her church family of FBC Bishop.
Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 29, in the Robstown Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed at Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lighthouse Hospice of Corpus Christi.
Pallbearers were Henry Haberzattle, Berry Benderman, Colt and Tyler Gaulding, Evan Frost and Donald Ray Peterson.
